Dr. Erlach graduated from the University of California's San Francisco School of Dentistry in 1986. He then completed his Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency with the United States Army before serving in Korea with the 82nd Airborne Division. Returning to California, he practiced in Santa Cruz County for seven years before joining Fountaingrove Dentistry in Santa Rosa, California in 1998.

Dr. Erlach is an accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, one of 250 dentists worldwide to hold this prestigious distinction. His work has been published multiple times in The Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is also a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology and a member of both the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association. Dr. Erlach holds the rank of colonel in the United States Army Reserves and has served two tours of duty in Iraq, most recently returning home in May 2008. He frequently travels overseas to provide dental care in third world countries. Since 9/11, he has been called to active duty three times to care for our soldiers in Iraq and the Balkans. He enjoys hiking, scuba diving, skiing, and travel.
