Dr. Jim Meletiou of the Smile Architects is dedicated to bridging the ever-evolving technology of dentistry with the detailed and personalized care necessary to best serve each of his patients. He has earned an excellent reputation for creating both aesthetically beautiful and meticulously crafted dentistry. Dr. Jim has practiced general and cosmetic dentistry in the Lake Norman area for almost 20 years. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa in 1989, as well as an undergraduate degree in English. Upon graduation, he accepted a teaching position in the university’s Department of Oral Diagnosis and Radiology. Dr. Jim has comprehensive training in the restoration of dental implants and advanced training in aesthetic dentistry. He is also extensively trained in Cerec (same-day crowns) and has earned the distinction of being one of only 6 certified Cerec trainers in the region.

A native of North Carolina, Dr. Jim’s family lived in different areas of the United States as well as overseas in Sweden while he was growing up. For almost two decades now, he and his wife, Teresa, have lived in the Lake Norman area with their daughters, Arianna and Gabriella as well as Kodi, their four-legged family wing-man. One of his proudest accomplishments is his achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout. Dr. Jim enjoys being involved in his community, participating in various outdoor activities and cheering his girls on at their sporting events. His favorite time is any occasion spent with his family and creating special memories.
