From a military family, Dr. Wendy was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and raised in Biloxi, MS. She graduated from University of South Alabama in 1998 with a B.S. in Biomedical Science, and from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 2004, where also met and married Dr. John.
Dr. Wendy received a Certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry from the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry in 2005. She and Dr. John returned to the Birmingham area, were she went into private practice with Dr. Kuntal Pandit.
In 2007 and 2008, Dr. Wendy assumed the practices of two retiring Bessemer dentists, Dr. Robert Phillips and Dr. Earl Pate.
In 2009, Dr. Wendy joined McCalla Dental as an Associate Dentist.
Dr. Wendy is a member of the Birmingham District Dental Society, the American Dental Association, the Alabama Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. She has continued with many advanced technical classes, focusing on senior dental care issues such as dentures, periodontal disease, and dry mouth syndrome. She loves educating patients to empower them to make good decisions concerning their oral health, and believes that good oral health contributes to one's physical and emotional health.
When she isn't working, Dr. Wendy enjoys vegetable gardening and cooking, especially with her husband and her daughters. She loves art and design, and enjoys creative things like cake decorating and fingerprint art.
