Tor Gotun DDS, MAGD, Cand.Odont, has over 30 years of experience practicing dentistry. He is well known throughout the dental community for his extraordinary skills in and knowledge of reconstructive dentistry, the treatment of TMJ, and cosmetic dentistry.

In his pursuit of excellence, Dr. Gotun has become a Master in the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD). Less than 1 percent of all general dentists in the U.S. hold that title.

In 2012, Dr. Gotun received a Lifelong Learning & Service Recognition Award in recognition of his commitment to continued education and his service to organized dentistry. In 60 years, he is only the 15th individual in Texas to receive such a high honor.

Education:

Dr. Gotun Graduated From The University Of Oslo Dental School, Norway In 1979. He Later Earned A License From Baylor College Of Dentistry In Texas. In 1985, Dr. Gotun Established His Dental Practice In Austin, Texas. He Has Continued To Work At His Practice Ever Since.

Board Certifications:

Dr. Gotun Has Extensive, Specialty Training In Prosthodontics And Other Dental Disciplines. He Received Advanced Training In Gnathology, Temporo-mandibular Joint (tmj) Therapy And Advanced Restorative Dentistry From The Foundation For Advanced Continuing Education (f.a.c.e.). This Training Allows Him To Provide His Patients With Unique Techniques And Approaches To Resolve Even The Most Complex Dental Conditions. He Never Gives Up On A Patient! Dr. Gotun Has Completed Over 3000 Hours Of Continued Education. In Addition, He Has Been Teaching Among His Peers For Over 20 Years. During His Career, Dr. Tor Gotun Has Helped To Develop New Dental Software At The University Of Texas In San Antonio, And He Teaches Advanced Reconstructive Dentistry To Dentists And Dental Labs All Over Texas. Memberships & Organizations: Presently, Dr. Gotun Serves As A Chair Of Education Committee At The Texas Academy Of General Dentistry. The Education Committee Is Devoted To Raising The Standards Of Continued Education For General Dentists. The Committee Also Provide The Under-served Areas Of Texas With Educational Opportunities That Enable Local Dentists To Serve Their Communities Better.
